Shell Aviation Announcement, First eHandshake® in Canada, How to Boost Efficiency & Sustainability, and more! Spring Highlights 2025

As the skies brighten and operations ramp up for the busy travel season, we’re excited to bring you the latest news & updates. This spring, we’re celebrating new deployments, product milestones, and global collaborations that continue to shape the future of aviation fuel management.
In this edition, you’ll find highlights from our recent go-lives—including updates on our multi-site rollout with Shell Aviation, our first eHandshake® in Canada, and insights into how digital solutions drive efficiency, sustainability, and smarter operations across the fuel supply chain.
Thank you for being part of the journey—let’s dive in!
We’re excited to announce that our fuel management technology is now successfully deployed at four new Shell Aviation sites! We are now live at London Gatwick (LGW), Manchester (MAN), Rotterdam The Hague (RTM), and London Stansted (STN)! These first sites begin our multi-year, multi-site collaboration with Shell Aviation, an ambitious project that will optimize fueling operations across multiple global locations.
We proudly announce the first-ever eHandshake® in Canada, completed between Virgin Atlantic and Menzies Aviation at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). No more paper tickets or walking up to the flight deck—just fast, secure, and contactless coordination.
Announcing our latest partnership with United Fuel Company (UFC), a leading into-plane fueling service provider at King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh! Under this collaboration, UFC will deploy i6’s digital refueling platform, bringing real-time fuel data visibility, streamlined operations, and faster turnaround times for airlines at KKIA.
We’re thrilled to announce that our into-plane fuel management system is now live at Menzies Aviation operations at Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)! This launch helps in further streamlining into-plane operations and marks another step forward in digitizing fuel operations, enhancing efficiency at one of Europe’s busiest hubs.
Our friends at Swissport in Montreal have been trying out our handheld devices, giving them the power of integrated real-time data in the palm of their hands. With over 150 employees providing refueling operations for around 250 flights daily at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, Swissport has relied on i6 for the last five years to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
2025 brings some significant milestones for both i6 and our customers! Our technology is enabling:
⏱️ 500,000 fuelings per month using i6 technology
🤝 30,000+ eHandshake® events per month
🌎 Operations across 200+ airports in 33 countries
We were delighted to be invited to speak at the Q8 Aviation Technical Workshop in Lisbon! Across two packed days, we connected with leading aviation fuel professionals, shared our expertise in digital fuel operations, and learned a lot from the insightful sessions hosted by Q8 and peers from across the sector.
Our recent webinar explored how digitization and smart data management transform aviation fuel operations — driving greater efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting sustainability goals. If you couldn’t join us live, don’t worry — you can now watch the full recording on demand!
In our latest blog, we revisit and highlight key insights from our webinar with Google Cloud, “How to Increase Efficiency and Sustainability with Cloud-Based Fuel Management.” Discover how cloud-based platforms and smart data validation are transforming aviation fuel management for the better.
To understand the benefits of digitization, you need to know the whole story of what it provides for your fuel farm and how to implement it. Our white paper 'The Future of Aviation Fuel M&O: Why Fuel Farms Are Embracing Digitization' tells you everything you need to know.
